With a stout field of 56 Castrol FloRacing Night in America mini-series entries amassed, Bagley posted an eighth-place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Taking the top-two, Morgan fell short with an eighth-place outing.
For another $22,022-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America event on Thursday at Lincoln Speedway (Lincoln, Ill.), Morgan’s seventh-to-fifth run in his heat race relegated him into one of two consolation events. Needing to place second or better to make the show, Bagley came one spot shy with a third-place finish.
On Friday evening at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) for the MARS Racing Series-sanctioned Farmer City 74 presented by Douglas Dodge, Bagley faded three spots in his heat to finish seventh. Transferring into the B-Main, Morgan’s night was over after placing eighth.
To wrap up the Illinois Speedweek on Saturday, Morgan headed to Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) for the Titan Industries FALS Spring Shootout. With an eighth-place finish in his heat giving him one final shot at the $30,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance, Bagley passed five cars but fell short of a transfer position with a 10th-place outing.
