Morgan Bagley tops Comp Cams at Crowley's Ridge Raceway
For the second-straight year, Morgan Bagley claimed the $3,000 top prize in the Labor Day Classic at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway aboard his P&W Sales No. 14m GottaRace.com / Day Motorsports/ XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.
With his first win of the year in the books, Bagley also climbed to second in the latest COMP Cams Super Dirt Series championship points, just 36 markers out of the lead as he goes after his first-career title with the tour.
“Needless to say I love Crowley’s Ridge (Raceway). That place has been really good to me the past few years. Even though this was our first win of the season our team has been getting more and more consistent every weekend this year, and it finally paid off with a win," Bagley commented. “I hated to see Saturday and Sunday get rained out because we need every race to make a run at this title.
“Thanks to Wayman and Kay Lynn McMillan and everyone who makes my team possible.”
On Friday evening, Morgan Bagley invaded Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Ark.) to enter his P&W Sales No. 14M Late Model into battle with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) for the Labor Day Classic.
Drawing 29 Late Models for the opener to the three-race weekend, Morgan clocked in fifth-fastest in his group before advancing from third-to-first in his heat.
Leading flag-to-flag in the 30-lap feature, Bagley cruised to his first win of the season, which came ahead of Kyle Beard, Billy Moyer Jr., Hunter Rasdon, and Mason Oberkramer.
He claimed $3,000 for the sixth victory of his career with the series.
Saturday’s event at Riverside International Raceway (West Memphis, Ark.) was axed by Mother Nature while Sunday’s stop at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) was postponed to Thursday, September 15 by late afternoon showers.
Morgan sits second in the latest CCSDS point standings.
