Bagley picks up pair of top-10 finishes in Fall Classic
After piloting a Dirt Modified the last time he hit the track, Morgan Bagley climbed back aboard his familiar No. 14M Super Late Model on Friday and Saturday for the 29th annual Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi).
Bagley was one of 48 Super Late Model drivers at the quarter-mile “House of Hook” on Friday, where $3,000 was up for grabs in twin 30-lap features. Bagley took second in his heat race and started his 30-lapper from the fifth spot. He gained three positions to record a runner-up result, taking the checkered flag 0.768 seconds behind winner Josh Putnam after moving into second on the final lap. Cade Dillard, Billy Moyer Jr. and Spencer Hughes completed the top five.
On Saturday, 47 Super Late Models were at the track for the $15,000-to-win finale. Bagley finished fifth in his heat, then transferred to the main event with a second-place finish in his B-Main.
He started the feature from the 22nd position and passed 17 cars – the most of any competitor in the 60-lap race – to record a seventh-place result.
